Child Advocacy Month 2025
This April, we honor the more than 3,000 dedicated Guardian ad Litem (GAL) volunteers who give a voice to children in court and work to ensure every child has a chance at a safe, stable, and loving home. 🌟
Chief Justice Paul Newby emphasizes:
“A child with a GAL volunteer is more likely to find a safe, permanent home, is half as likely to re-enter the foster care system, and is more likely to succeed in school.”
#ChildAdvocateMonth reminds us of the power of communities and families coming together to prevent child abuse and support the well-being of our youth. HARK recognizes and appreciates the vital work of GAL volunteers, pro bono attorneys, and community partners who show up every day for North Carolina’s most vulnerable children. 💛
💬 Did you know?
Half of the HARK Board of Directors are currently Guardian ad Litem volunteers or have served in the past — a true reflection of our commitment to child advocacy and making sure every child is seen, heard, and supported. 🙌
💬 Could you be the voice for a child?
Over 2,000 children in NC still need a volunteer advocate.
