The HARK's Angels Program allows donors to directly purchase specific items for foster children in Buncombe County through an online registry featured in drives held throughout the year.
Whether it’s providing clothing, shoes, winter attire, or personal items tailored to a child’s unique needs and wants, HARK’s Angels ensure that no child goes without essential items that contribute to their comfort and well-being. This program bridges critical gaps in support, offering foster children a sense of dignity, confidence, and care when they need it most.
3rd Annual
Winter Coat Drive
The 3rd Annual HARK’s Angels Coat and Winter Wear Drive is underway! This year, we’re expanding our reach to help more than 1,200 children and youth in Buncombe County stay warm this winter, including children in foster care, youth aging out of foster care, and students experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity.
Along with winter coats, we’re collecting teen-friendly essentials like hoodies, sweatpants, and leggings.

HARK’s Angels: Our Impact So Far
During HARK’s second annual coat drive, HARK’s Angels came together to make sure children in foster care had the winter essentials they needed. More than 50 supporters from across the country helped purchase over 170 winter coats, along with matching gloves and hats, in just 48 hours. With a total investment of around $10,000, this incredible outpouring of generosity helped keep children warm and comfortable throughout the colder months.
2025 Winter Coat Drive
When BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) children enter foster care, it's crucial they have access to the right hair care and skin products to support their unique needs. Social services typically provide foster families with these essential products, but after learning from a social worker about a funding shortage, HARK's Angels stepped in to purchase and deliver the needed supplies. Proper products help ensure BIPOC children feel confident and cared for.
2025 BIPOC Hair and Skin Products
In 2024, HARK’s Angels made a significant impact by purchasing approximately 175 winter coats for foster children and youth, ensuring they stay warm during the colder months. With a total investment of around $10,000, each coat was paired with gloves and hats for complete cold-weather protection. In an incredible show of generosity, over 60 HARK’s Angels from across the country came together to purchase all items within just 48 hours, ensuring that children received the warmth and care they needed as quickly as possible.
